Unable to Detach vCenter Server from vCloud

How to detach the vCenter Server from vCloud Director ? Its very simple .If you want to detach the vCenter server completely from vCloud, just remove the Cloud Resources and detach the vCenter server from vCloud director web portal. But sometimes, we may forget to clean up the Cloud resources properly and that will create a problem when you tried to detach vCenter server. Once of the most of common error is  “[highlight]Failed to unregister vCenter Server “UA-vCenter”. 1.Login to vCloud Director.

2.Disable the vCenter Server.

3.Try to Detach it .

4.Oops…we are getting the error.

5.Let me check whether any cloud resources are still available in vCenter server. Login to vSphere Client and see any vCloud director resources are available.Nothing seems to be there.

6.Check in vCloud Director’s “Cloud Resources” tab. There is one cloud resource is still referencing to vCenter Server.

7.Just remove the “UANET” resource which is still pointing to vCenter Server.

8.Try to Detach the vCenter Server again after disabling it.

9. vCenter Server should be removed if there is no further issue.

If you still not able to detach the vCenter server,then follow the below method.

1.just reset the vShield manager to defaults .

2.You need to reboot the vShield Manager to complete the clean up process.

3. Login to vCloud Director and select hosts.

Un-prepare the hosts

4.Disable the hosts .

5.Select the each host and un-prepare it . This will uninstall the vCloud agent from the ESXi servers.

6.You may get  error while un-preparing it .It mainly happens where ESXi servers is not able to go in to the maintenance.

Once you have un-prepared the hosts, you can try to detach the vCenter server from vCloud director.
